A: You need a registered BzCall account and the full specifications of what you want to procure (item details, required quantity, supplier contacts, documents, etc.).
Q: What types of auctions can I create?
A: You can create a Single Auction (for one item or service) or a Bundle Auction (for multiple items, easily uploaded in bulk via an XLSX file).
⚙️ Auction Setup & Participation
Q: What steps are involved in setting up a procurement auction?
A:
- Define the item or service and category
- Configure auction parameters (start time, duration, name, description)
- Add delivery and billing terms
- Choose visibility (public or closed) and invite vendors
- Launch the auction and send invites to suppliers via the platform or separately with emails
Q: How many suppliers do I need to invite?
A: You should invite at least two suppliers, but more (3 – 5+) increases competition and the chance of better pricing.
Q: Can I change an auction after I start it?
A: Since the first bid has been submitted, you generally cannot amend or withdraw the auction. Plan carefully before launching.
📊 Bids & Results
Q: How do supplier bids work?
A: Suppliers submit bids during the auction timeframe. Buyers can view bid activity and choose the best offer based on the lowest price or other criteria specified.
Q: What happens after the auction ends?
A: The system identifies the winning bid (often the lowest valid bid). As the buyer, you can then proceed to finalise a contract or PO (purchase order) based on the auction outcome.
